Ian “Seven” Tackes is a B-boy, choreographer, and filmmaker from Washington DC. In 2021 he moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of the Arts. There he studied under Kyle and Dinita Clark, eventually becoming a principal member of Just Sole! Street Dance Theater Company and performing in Jacob's Pillow “On The Road” Tour 2023. He represented the University at CAMPING 2023, performing a work by Niall Jones at the Centre National de la Danse in Pantin, France. His short film, “Inward&Unalone” was selected for the POV Showcase and screened at the Philadelphia Film Society Theater to a live audience in February 2024. That July, he placed Top 16 at Step Ya Game Up battle in New York City. In December 2024, he graduated from Bennington College with a BFA in Dance under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield. Upon his return to Philadelphia, he intends to continue dancing with JustSole and creating his own work.
